There's a new Star Trek movie that has been in production for some time and a few months ago a trailer was released for it. It looks really amazing! The writers and director have taken great efforts in making sure it's not too canonical and want to release it to a broad audience. They're fully aware that not a lot of people are aware of the Star Trek lingo, so they are revamping the story a little bit (and so far it looks good, imo) and advertising it as an adventure that everyone can enjoy.
It's the biggest budget of any Star Trek film so far and has an all new production crew. Great news considering the story loopholes and discrepancies of previous films. The director's and writers' past works have all been a big hit and they have good titles under their belt such as 'Alias', 'MI:III', 'The Island', 'Legend of Zorro', 'Transformers', and many others.
Everything I've been hearing about the movie is looking good (even if some of the titles mentioned are nominal) and I admire the treatment the writers have taken with the story, such as deciding to have the Enterprise built on Earth, reasoning that they wanted to symbolize the transition of humans leaving our planet to explore the universe.
The cast all look tremendous in their roles, and it appears that this may be a breathe of fresh air for science fiction and for the franchise.

Sorry of that was long-winded lol
