Raid Sign ups

Will we be using the raid sign up calendar again now that we're out of summer and all the leaders are back? I really enjoyed planning in advance for raids; both for attendance and location.

As of Tuesday, the new patch will be out. Part of the 3.0 patch includes a new guild calendar interface built into the game (no additional addon required). We would like to start using it to plan raids for the last month before WotLK comes out and raids stop for a couple of months while everyone levels to 80.

Is it necessary to stop raiding once WOTLK comes out? Might be fun to tackle some of the content we have yet to master (i.e. BT, Sunwell, etc.). Could cut back to just Friday raids or something. But, I understand that the expansion content may be much more interesting.

It is not necessary but the reality of the matter is people will be more interested in getting to level 80 then coming back to do "old" content. When TBC came out, we said "Hey, as we level, lets use our new abilities and talents and gear that comes with each new level and tackle BWL and AQ40" and that flopped.

To reiterate, it is not necessary to stop, the reality is, it most likely will.

As GP stated, I am expecting the same lack of interest in old content raiding once WotLK comes out. With a new class to play around at lvl 55 and all the new content and leveling for existing players, I just don't see the interest in raiding for at least the first two months of release depending on how long it takes to get to level 80. Focus will shift to guild 5 man groups and quest groups.

so.... now that the bosses are nerfed 30% in hp and melee dmg should we clear some content before next month?

SSC? TK? BT? HJ?

Not really. Just don't get your expectations up about being able to clear Mt. Hyjal or BT. 30% nerf in hit points when the best we have gotten Anetheron down to is 50% still doesn't mean success.

okeeeeey dokie! :)

Oh yeah, forgot the biggest thing inhibiting raiding at expansion and pre expansion patches - lack of tanks that go DPS and healers that go DPS

I'm still technically declared a healer, I'd switch to tank if needed for some new content before the patch.

I thought Dual spec was coming?

Id level as Prot again, it was a lot of fun levelling 1-70 as Prot
