The Trying Travels of Tek (Apr.-May 2008 Edition)

Well, the apartment is nearly packed. Just a few last items (my Playstation 2, Philips DVP642, television, A/V switch, and the folding table they're all sitting on) and it'll be time to load up and head out.

I'll be getting up (relatively) early tomorrow morning and working with my wife's parents to pack up the bulk of our apartment. My wife is out of town taking her last set of boards, but we'll cross paths Sunday night when she heads back for the last few days of her rotation.

Confused yet? Try doing this for eight months of your life.

Good news: The end is in sight. My wife graduates in early May and we'll be settling down for a short while at her parents' home while we both search for jobs and figure out where we're going to live.

Please pray for safe and swift travel for me, my wife, and my wife's parents over the next few weeks. Please also pray that my wife does well on her boards.

I likely won't be able to visit the forums as frequently over the next few weeks, but will try to get on when I can.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I should be back at the keys and ready to celebrate with a wild night of forum posting and Team Fortress 2 on Monday, May 11.

I'm not disappearing, but I likely won't be as active for a little while.

May Tassadar be with you. En Taro Tassadar. :p

(Personally, I'm a Terran fan)

I like the fact the last thing packed is the Playstation 2 :D

Executive order executed!

Hey when you get finished with your travels you can write a biography and call it "Tek Trek"...wait I'm pretty sure that has to violate a copyright somewhere.

You know Tek I've heard great things about living in Iowa. Low crime rates, cheap living, good place to raise a family. Just sort of slow every now and then (mostly all the time). Good luck on the job hunts.

GL and God bless, man. I feel your pain, I'm leaving NY tomorrow night and getting into my apartment hopefully by Tuesday.

Posting this from a McDonalds in Seminole, Oklahoma.

I need to make it quick since my wife's parents are nearly ready to hit the road again.

If all goes according to plan, we'll arrive in Springfield this evening and I'll be online tonight to play some celebratory rounds of TF2. :D

Everyone from Iowa is obsessed with Iowa. I always thought it was strange. :)

Hoping to wind up near family, but we'll see what happens. Gotta pay off that massive student debt somehow!

Boards were okay I think. Of course some mistakes and some things I forgot, but I feel like it was probably good enough...maybe...hopefully!?!? The whole thing was kind of like an out of body experience.

UPDATE: Arrived safely in Springfield earlier tonight, unloaded the truck and car, ate pizza, went out to Wal-Mart at around 12:30 a.m., and bought Mario Kart Wii.

Check the Tribe of Judah Nintendo Wii Friends Codes List for my Friends codes.

The drive was very long, the packing and unpacking wore me out, and I'm very sore and tired. The only reason I'm still awake was to play a few Mario Kart Wii matches with my brother-in-law.

Tomorrow is a day of rest for me, then it's on to Tulsa on Monday.

Whaa? That's like right down the road from me! (a mere 30-40 min on Highway 65, but around here that's right down the road...)

I would but I don't have cash or car. If I'd have known far enough in advance I would have both and would definitely try. ;):D

You have time. I'll be heading out to Tulsa tomorrow (Monday) and won't be back until May 11.

My sisters have the vehicle all day today, which is why I said if I had known earlier, I'd have negotiated for vehicle rights (and gas money) for some period of time today. Ahh well, the joys of sharing a vehicle with two sisters.

May 11th eh? hmm... Might try to catch you then. ;)

No worries. There probably wouldn't have been any time to meet today, anyway.

Maybe after the 11th, though.

Yeah we'll be in Sprimo for a while after the 11th...crashing with my parents until I find a job and we know where we can settle down.
