Those custom game bars...

Hey guys, anybody know where these gamer bars come from? Just wondering if there's a site that allows you to auto-generate them or something. Would love to get one for some of the games I play, TF2, etc.

Gracias in advance!

lol, yeah, they're pretty cool. You can even make them into a "slideshow" so they're constantly changing. That way if you have a lot of interests, you can have a bunch of them without having a huge signature.

The problem then is, the animated .GIF that you create and add to your signature murders dial-up users' ability to browse the forums.

Then again, I'm guessing most dial-up users disable signatures when browsing. That's what I would do if bandwidth was at a premium.

You could always add the spoiler tag to your sig in the event of wanting to use something in .gif format couldn't you? For instance on the Penny Arcade forums most people have their sigs (mostly userbars and gamertags and whatever it is that the independent PS3 ones are called) spoilerededed.

The spoiler tag doesn't keep any images or text between the tags from downloading--it only keeps that content from displaying until the user clicks "Show."

So, unfortunately, the spoiler tag doesn't help dial-up users at all.
