Best free online chess game?

My dad expressed an interest in playing chess with me online and I'm wondering if any chess players in the community can recommend a solid free online version of chess.

I was thinking of playing Chess on Yahoo! Games; does anyone else have a better idea?

I found Free Internet Chess Server, which may work as well as Yahoo! Games.

i used to play some on Yahoo, but that's the only free online one that I tried.

I think I'm going to walk my dad through joining a Yahoo Chess game. It's free, it's (reasonably) user-friendly, and we both already have Yahoo accounts. Neither of us would need to download additional software and Yahoo games work with Firefox.

I don't play chess much, but if you have yahoo messenger you can play it over that XD

I used to play Chess with the original board and chess pieces.

Rooks, Knights, Bishops, Pawns...

I'm decent to the game, though, I haven't play it for over a decade.

I have played it on Yahoo but the first game I played, I won by default cause my opponent got disconnected.
