yeah... so u guys remember i like doing mods? and how my computer is wood currently??? well i was thinking... i have several socket A cpus and motherboards and i thought i would use one for the cause of an oil mod... but i didt know which oil to use and whether i should use accrylic or wood....

wood would have to be treated extensively to make sure it would be waterproof otherwise it would probably sogg up, leak and rot. Plus it would be harder to seal as the material would expand and contract over time and may break some seals.

i have pre-treated decking wood >.> and thats why i thought of it. and phantom i cant read whatever language that is >.>

hmmm ok but i dunno if mineral oil, vege oil or if motor oil is the best O_o. not many places have done it and recorded it

haha, my wooden machine is awesome, i really love it ^_^ .

you really need to do a mod that has a water cooling system... I guess it would be just the same principle as an oil yet.... a few differences... plus... those little toys that make bubbles (by spinning and release the oxygen in the bubbles) only cost... like.... 2 bucks... they are made for fish tanks... but still... ANYWAYS... just my opinion.

if you find any good pictures of an already finished one... post it... i wanna see what this is "suppose" to look like.

its 3/4 done i just need the oil right now >.> im also trying to submerge the hard drive. i made a special little casing for it so hopefully it will be oil-tight.... i also hope it wont be usable as a flotation device >.>

How much cold can a computer withstand?

Couldn't you make a computer with a refrigerator?

You make the computer with the hot temperature parts on overclocking mode, have the case become a refrigerator, plug it and comes out cold air enough to cool your beverages. :D

Yes and it has been done, but it doesn't get all that cold because the air is just chilled then spat through the case. CPUs can take a few hundred below zero but you run into problems with condensation that can cause you to fry your computer.

I look forward to this winter, I have a nice space heater sitting next to my feet.

Central air/heat ftw?

yeah... ummm.... props if you can make a "ice mod" yet.... water and computers... "usually" doesn't mix... if you could get that to work... props to you. Yet... when you work with a refrigerator, you hit a lot of problems with water... the refrigerator just doesn't cool air... it puts a whole lotto water in the air as well.
