I got Windows XP installed on the PC a few months ago by my sister's friend, for free, very generious of him.
Got ms office xp, all the works, norton anti-virus, neroburner and a couple up-to-date xp stuff.
I 'liked' Windows xp when it was on the pc, with the different users u can have on the pc, thats cool.
now, its driving me nuts, again, with another problem.
When I log on my user/pass, gets me in, sometimes the taskbar only shows up the anti-virus program, usually it shows more. And the loading clock from the mouse pointer never goes away when i just highlight the taskbar.
When I go to the Internet Explorer, sometimes it doesn't work, says on the bottom left, "Detecting proxy setting. . . . . ." OK, then I try playing a game to see if its cable modem thats down, nope, any online game works(except for steam, which i still hate it, no offense), but not IE? (right now, using IE, but took 5 shutdowns to work؃Öÿ|؃£Ü)
Checked the Local Area Connection and my ip changes from a 24.xx.xx.xx to a 169.xxx.xxx.xx, stupid.
Called shaw on the phone, still busy...whatever.
When I log off, shows the windows xp screen, should show to choose other users, but noooo, says, "Saving your settings" and then freezes the pc.
AAAAIIIIIEEEEEYYYYYAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! ÿÖ܃£á
