What is CCGR?

I followed someones signature and it took me to CCGR. I noticed that a few of you all post over there. Could someone give me the brief rundown of what that place is about? I took a peek around and honestly was appalled at what I saw. Extreme amounts of rude trash talk, crazy talk on all kinds of heretical topics and Mormons given free reign to spread their gospel and teachings. Why are they an affiliate of ours? Did I just get a bad first impression and missing the heart of the place. Please inform me so I am not ignorant.
 
hehehehe, CCGR is basically what CGA gen and CGA christian discussion forum use to be, along with tons of really great people and christian game reviews and promotions. Its run by a gal who is pretty fantastic and has been a member of here for ages, shoot more than 7 years about.

CCGR tries to be exactly what the acronym is, Christ Centered Game Reviews, at the heart of it
 
There is one Mormon and a few atheist that post there, but it's mainly guys 13-18 year old (some of which are still figuring out what they believe). A majority of the posts and topics are tongue-and-cheek/sarcasm (since a lot of them talk in IRC most of the time, they joke around a lot) while the political topics having both left/right-wingers posting. The only Mormon (a mature dad) more or less explains what and why he believes and doesn't try to convert us. As for the atheist, well, that's where you would see a lot of o_o topics with people calling him out. /Iz a Moderator there

I believe they are an affiliate since they have game reviews that explain what kind of moral content one could expect in a title.

OK well that makes a lot more sense of what I was seeing there. I don't want to link any specific posts or anything. I think that as I was browsing various topic in the main Christian forum area I had a different perspective of the audience then I do now. I did get the feeling that it might not have been as harsh as it seemed and all the members might be close and just playing with each other, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for giving me this background.

I didn't make it to the home page my first visit, just the forums. Now I see all the reviews, kinda neat.

That would be my sig..:) I wear that slur as a badge of honor not to slam CCGR.
 
There are several active CGA Forums members who are also active at CCGR. My wife and I have met the head of CCGR and her husband in person. I can assure you, while the CCGR community may be younger on average, CCGR's goals are in line with the Alliance's mission: to glorify God through gaming.
 
I skimmed over their threads in the "Christian Posts" directory and I didn't find anything questionable.

There were definitely topics being discussed that would seem out of place in other websites though.

I'm glad you made me curious enough to go over there!

Thanks Odale (and no offence) but thats not saying much to me ;) I would gather that we run in entirely different circles in regards to what is offensive/questionable to self. :o
 
To each, their own. :D

I suppose ChickenSoup and Lazarus are the same people that post here then?
