This thread is for me to post updates made to the website. Feel free to comment. No sticky required.

June 29, 2006:
  • added 'Alliance Info' page
  • added 'Event' menu item
  • added a gallery to everyone's profiles (intended for pictures/descriptions of your characters)
  • removed character tabs from the profile pages
  • removed shoutbox (redundant communication tool since we have forum, teamspeak, and now a website private message system)
  • oh yeah...added private message system to the website

FYI - The tab is still called 'My Characters' in your profile, but when you click it then you get the gallery stuff (which I have yet to figure out how to work :D ).

To add pictures to your gallery, just click on the red link titled 'Submit New Gallery Entry'. Just give the image a title, description and browse for it on your computer. Then click the 'Submit Gallery Entry' button and voila!

*Note - Current settings limit images to 500x500 pixels and 250k in size each.

July 5, 2006:
  • Updated the css of the mini-calendar to better blend with the site's colors
  • Updated the 'About Us' page to add the new officers and link names with profiles and link allies with alliance page

Let's get those profiles updated! :)

Any chance the website could use our handles instead of our real names for the authors of the articles?

When you write an article or edit one, if you scroll to the bottom and click on the 'Publishing' tab, you'll see a field called 'Author Alias'. You can type your handle in there and it'll show instead of your username. There is also a FAQ that explains this.

astrod00d you rock! Sorry I am so absent minded about this stuff and thank you for being so helpful and patient.

Hey I love the new addition for character pics. Already uploaded 3 characters, and will upload the other 3 soon. :)

Great job with the site d00d

Just posted an article on officer selection criteria (probably the thing I get questioned about the most recently) and another on the touch ranger.
I published them for you. I'm sure you noticed that they didn't show up after you posted them. Whenever you write an article, don't forget about the little tab on the bottom called 'Publishing'. :p Articles won't show up on the site unless you change them from 'Unpublished' to 'Published'. This is also the tab you use to change your author name on. For example, your articles say 'Written by Bill Campbell'. If you would rather it say '(toj.cc)WildBillKickoff' or something else as your author name, just put it in the 'Author Alias' field before saving it. There is a FAQ about changing your author name but I really need to write one about publishing as well. It's just one of those obscure steps that most people don't even notice unless they know about it.

astrod00d - I posted the following idea on the forums a few weeks ago, and there seemed to be some interest. Is there any way we could get some sort of guild/alliance WTB/WTS/Trade tool on the website? There was talk of making another forum, but I think something on the webpage would be cool as well. Just an idea.

I've looked into this over the past week or so and haven't really found anything that would serve as a buy/sell/trade tool. I'll keep looking though. There's bound to be an open-source php tool that I may be able to integrate.

When you submit an article can you edit it after that?
Cause i submitted another ettin farming build but was going to add stuff on later when I am able to get on GW and take a few screenshots of the map and additional information.

Yep, you can edit them. Just log into the website, go to your article, and click on the little icon next the articles title (the mouse over for the icon says 'Edit' I believe).
