Also I've read that the Playstation 3 is going to release UT2007 as the premiere game that comes with it. It also says in other sites that in order to play UT2007 at PSta.3 quality level the computer geeks need a 600.00 video card. OUCH
My son is going to purchase a PS3 and I will too when it becomes available just to play against him. I'm going to whip up on him. He's going down. Of course it will be on a 3gig lan connection with the new PS3 on the big screen.
 
PS3 is going to rock if it comes with linux on the hard drive like I've read it will. It might just replace my computer if Nvidia makes their linux drivers compatible with the RSX chip.
 
Does that mean I'm going to need to play with a Dual Shock Boomerang or whatever it's called, instead of a mouse and keyboard? No way. I love my MX1000.
 
Perhaps my gamepad + mouse combo will become the standard way for everyone to play FPS games, hehe.

I have heard certain rumors that hold high amounts of credibility that say that the demo is going to be released sometime this month or next. And I'll probably still go with the PC version because of all the tweakability. The ability to change my binds and edit my .inis is valuable to me. And what about custom content? For instance, how does a PS3 owner play a UT2k7 mod? Or write one, for that matter?

If the PS3 runs linux, yes. But I dunno, if they release a demo in the next couple of months I won't be able to resist upgrading my computer and I'll probably just end up getting it on PC.
 
ditto on the pc version. I'll have both. I really like the little tweaks available for the pc. Instant upgrades and mod downloads etc... I know my son won't purchase or upgrade his pc. So I'll just purchase a P3 just to play against him.
The only problem about getting the P3 is standing in line. Do you all know if an online company like gamestop will let you preorder and receive it the week of release. I know some have like a pre-order but you have to wait for several weeks to receive it. I'd like to find a company that ships the day of release so I just stay home on release day. :)
 
I knew this was coming, but I was hoping it was further off...if a UT2007 demo comes out in the next couple of months, I'm going to have to look into getting a new card, maybe a new computer...man, chip makers and game developers gotta have some kind of unholy alliance going on to make us upgrade like this all the time. :(
 
Haha, I'm sure of it. Anyway, I was thinking about what I said in my last post and now that I think about it, if the PS3 does run Linux then all I'll need to do will be purchase the PC version (assuming it has Linux support like it did last time).
