Song of Solomon 6:8-9
6:8 There are threescore queens, and fourscore concubines, and virgins without number.
6:9 My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her.
I always have to restrain a laugh whenever I get to these verses in my Bible reading. I mean, that's got to be the worst pickup line ever to say, "Out of all my hundreds of women, I think you're the best." But it's an all too easy trap of illogic to fall into in our own relationships with God and other people when we're not paying attention to what we're doing with our lives, and then we can find ourselves in trouble when we want to communicate that we care but the way we've been spending our time and resources elsewhere would contradict that.
