oshua 3:5
Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
5 Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, because the Lord will do wonders among you tomorrow.”

I got this from our revival last weekend. It speaks to the thought of Holiness, which is where I have been for the last month. Joshua is starting to lead the Hebrews into the promised land by taking them through the Jordan river. What is interesting about this passage is that the people are not just passively standing by, but they have the job of getting ready by the act of consecrating themselves for the presence of God. Too often Christians sit back and expect God to do all of the work when we do have a job to do if we expect to see great things occur in our lives and in the Church Victorious. We must consecrate our lives to God, making our selves ready to act on, and in, the wonders that God works in our lives.
