James 1:14-15 (Holman Christian Standard Bible
14 But each person is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own evil desires. 15 Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death.
No feel good stuff today, just a look at the big problem in our lives, sin. Sometimes we give the devil too much credit for the sins in our lives, this passage in James gives a real root cause for sin. If we are to look at the sinful falls of different people in the Bible it is personal sinful desires, this is usually the case, from Adam and Eve on down to today. We sin then blame someone else, but we need to learn and take a hard look at why we sin. David did, then repented of his sins. What are your desires in life? Where will they take you? What will those desires bear out? A daily check is necessary of what we really want is necessary to keep sin from taking over our lives.
