Fellow Tribe of Judah Members,
It has come time to make a decision. Our current gaming server is running Red Hat 9 linux. This while very flexible is no longer supported by Red Hat. Also some issues with the kernel are preventing us from using the current hardware to it maximum potential. The only other option is debian which has some compatibility issues with some of the game servers we currently run. Also the newest games coming out have dedicated servers..but not for linux. This has neccesitated a platform switch. The Tribe of Judah gaming server will be changed from Linux to Windows Server 2003. This will allow us to run more gameservers and serve a larger portion of the Christian Gaming Community. The downside is cost. Windows is not free like Linux. Therefore we ask for donations to help offset the additional costs of running the windows server. We are hoping to be able to raise $2128 to cover the full server hosting for one year and to cover paypal transaction fees. The cost of the windows server is 169/month.
