As the title says, I'm thinking about renting a minecraft server from a company called fluctis. A 20 person server (768 gig of memory) will cost me about $100 for a year of hosting.
I'm wanting to start my own server because my daughter is starting to enjoy playing and with us traveling so much over the next few years, I thought it would be a fun distraction. I've also had a hard time finding a server with a setup I enjoy playing on so the answer is to start my own. Especially since the 1.7 update just hit.
My server is going to be very vanilla with just lockette and griefstick mods. It will probably restart every time a major update comes out (1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 etc) because of the nature of the end and just to keep things fairly new and fresh.
Two questions.
1. Is there anything I need to keep in mind before I select/commit? (Static IP? Minecraft panel?)
2. Would anyone be willing to help with the cost?
Thanks and God Bless
