The story of Matthew Huffman

He was the six-year-old son of a missionary couple
that was working to spread GOD's word in Salvador,Brazil.

One morning Matthew complained of a fever.
As his temperature rose he began losing his eyesight.
His parents put him in the car and raced him to the hospital.
On the desperate trip to the hospital he was laying on his mothers lap
and did something his parents will never forget.
He extended his hand in the air.
His mother took his hand and pulled it down.
Two more times he raised it and she pulled his hand back down.
Then confused; the mother asked "What are you reaching for my son?"
"i'm reaching for Jesus's hand" Matthew answered.
And with those words his eyes closed and he slid into a coma
from which he would never awaken.
He died two days later from bacterial meningitis.
Of all the things he never learned in his six short years of life
he'd learned the most important thing:
Who to reach for in the hour of death, JESUS

This is a sample of the book i'm reading
"And The Angels Were Silent" by Max Lucado
Hope you enjoy

What is the book actually about? What you quoted here doesn't seem to match the description on Amazon.

"As Jesus entered His final days and faced Golgotha, He acted with loving purpose and deliberate intent. Each step was calculated. Every act premeditated. And the Angels Were Silent allows you to enter and observe a revealing and intimate view of our Savior's last week."

they are short stories with biblical truths in them.
And this was just the bulk of the story because it would be alot to type

best advice i can give is;
Don't judge a book by it's Amazon cover

Sounds like a great book. Hopefully they come out with an Audible.com version. Anything more than a few pages and I can't really stick with it since I fall asleep :( Audiobooks are pretty nice though, can listen while doing other stuff :D

Surely there is an audio version by now - that book has been out for twenty years.

Most of his books are great - including this one.

Haha! That's why I read at night. Puts me out like that! Unfortunately it's a little troublesome when I have to read for school.. :/

Since my wife (Biblica) is some...what disabled, (I post for her sometimes in forums) I so need to get her an audio book ^reader^; any ideas or recommendations? I've Googled a few, but personal info is best!

TY

Audio book reader? I'm talking about books professionally read by someone and normally in MP3 format you can play in any audio player (cell phone, mp3 player, pc, etc)

Many years ago, Michael York did an audio reading for C.S. Lewis' Mere Christianity that was quite good. At the time, it was an audio cassette. I would think its available on disc or mp3 by now.

You can buy almost anything in audio/mp3. Check your facebook page - they have ads for free audio downloads trying to get you to use their service.

I mostly use Audible.com, newsgroups, or torrents. If I do get it on newsgroups or torrents I usually buy it on Audible when I can.
