All flesh is like grass,
and all its glory like a flower of the grass.
The grass withers, and the flower falls,
but the word of the Lord endures forever.
1 Peter 1:24-25 HCSB

Popular culture often seeks to dismiss the Bible as "archaic" and "obsolete," but Scripture continues to remain as relevant as ever in an age of moral relativism reminiscent of the era when "everyone did what was right in their own sight."

When ridiculed for believing in the Holy Scripture as God-breathed Truth, it helps to take a longer view, consider the endurance of the church (2,000 years and still going!), and rest in the promises of God's Word. We should be ready to explain our faith whenever the situation calls for it, but never let us assume that the enduring of the Word depends on us. God is sovereign and His plans will be realized. Far better that we submit to those plans and enjoy His blessing than oppose those plans and incur His wrath.
