You see, John here is reminding us that only so much can get passed between us with the written word. We have things that we can only say to each other in person. Too many things that go unsaid because our voice, our facial expressions, our touch... Does not get conveyed by mere written words.

Make sure you see one another on a regular basis. Keep your friendships with one another strong!
