Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind. He said:

Who is this who obscures My counsel
with ignorant words?
Get ready to answer Me like a man;
when I question you, you will inform Me.
Where were you when I established the earth?
Tell Me, if you have understanding.
Who fixed its dimensions? Certainly you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
What supports its foundations?
Or who laid its cornerstone
while the morning stars sang together
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Job 38:1-7, HCSB

God begins his response to Job's questioning and immediately makes the gap between man and God abundantly clear.

We may think we know what's best for us, but first we must understand God did not create us for our own pleasure but rather for His glory and then understand that we can not hope to understand the full width, depth, and breadth of God's knowledge, power, and compassion.

While we should seek to draw closer to God day by day, let us never assume that we fully understand His plan for our lives and the lives we touch. Such an attitude is today as it was in Job's time ignorant indeed.

Our understanding is so finite, and God's so infinite, it boggles the mind how we can have the gall to question Him. Then I find myself doing it. Thanks for the reminder verse Tek.
