You can get a collection pack that has Stronghold, Stronghold Crusader (regular and extreme), Stronghold 2, and Stronghold Legends for less than $30 at Amazon and probably other places. Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader also can often be picked up in value bins by themselves for less then $10 each.
The ones I currently own myself are Stronghold, Crusader (regular), and 2. All have multiplayer options and even if I can't synchronize my gametime with anyone else's, they're something I could play sorta asynchronously by making and sharing modules and such so it would be pretty nifty if anyone else got into it, too.
