I'm curious, is the game against religion?

Meaning, being God.

I saw the video on YouTube, it looked funny and cute.

Honestly, if I made one, I'd make it look like Wobbuffet. :D

Not that I know of.

I hadn't given it much thought, to be honest. I just thought it was fun creating a silly-looking monster.

I'd say no more than games like the Civilization series or Sims would be.

Are you really "playing God"? All you are doing is managing a city that doesn't even exist. You arn't harming anyone and unless you get really delusional and consider yourself greater then the God then there probably isn't any issues.

(If you do get that delusional over a game then you probably have deeper issues)

I don't think that exercising creativity is anti-God. Rather, it is displaying one of the abilities that he has vested in us, to his greater glory. Yes, creating things is being "like God" but humans were created to be "like God" in many ways (the image of God.) If Spore is "playing God" then so is suddenly deciding to put sugar and lemon juice on waffles instead of syrup.

Is the game pro-evolution? yes.

Evolution exists in nature, to a limited degree. Genetic code can be modified to introduce new traits, for instance corn was modified to make it resistant to certain types of bugs (over 60% of the corn grown in the US is genetically modified). UV rays can damage DNA strands and cause deletions, insertions and a variety of other problems. Most of the time the changes will be useless or harmful (and therefor usually discarded from the gene pool).

However say a short furred rabbit and long furred rabbit (of the same species, just a different trait) lived in a climate that suddenly shifted cold. The long furred would survive better and eventually you would end up with a large number of long furred rabbits compared to short furred. If the climate suddenly shifted warmer then the short furred could become dominate in the gene pool after awhile.

What I don't believe however is macro evolution (or the evolving of say a lizard to a mammal). But small changes can and do often happen (like entire races of people tending to grow less due to less food available, ala Japan post WW2).

The idea of "Evolution" isn't bad, it is the macro evolution they shovel into children's minds without any solid evidence.
