Matthew 18:1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.
When I think about what children has that we must become like them to have salvation, I think that children tend to believe wholeheartedly. This is a key point in salvation. Children can be very attentive and it is easier to obey than adults. The disciples what to be number one. This kind of behavior is normal in human nature. But this is not what Jesus taught his disciples. He taught them to be humble and believe in God. To serve others not to be served. Let us know God's word, believe and obey.
