I got Question For You all in my school they say rock music is bad; may i ask why this question is really stumping me{somebody please help me out here}

So do they have an actual argument to back up this claim or do they just expect you to accept it because they said so?

well they say its in the the bible {the book of psalm i think} but they it's bad because it doesn't glorify God

Umm, no it doesn't. Rock music wasn't even invented till the 1960's and I could be wrong but Psalms was written a couple ears before that I think.

Well rock music can be bad like anything else but that doesn't automaticly make everything bad. There's alot of bad music out there that does nothing worthwile, but an equal number of good Christian bands that can and have spread the word into places that wouldn't normally hear it. This ussually happens only because they're in a band about it, and people will ussually be far more open to listen to a song then a percieved lecture.

Alot of churches now are even moving towards a more contemporary style of worship, which while it's not rock by any stretch alot of people think any music other then hymns are evil. I highly doubt that's true and have never seen anything to make me believe it's so. You've always got to take what people say with a grain of salt, expcept for me because I'm always right

, and find out what's true for yourself. Remember there are people who say any kind of dancing even if it's just the most silly dumb thing like swaying at the knees is evil, even though David danced all crazy like and naked.

Christian music of any type is ok... theyre wrong if they say otherwise.

Secular music of any type is not ok. rock music or not the lyrics of songs today are filth. And its the lyrics that define a songs spirituality, not the ammount of distortion.

the people in your school are nubs..bring em to me if they wanna argue.. i have extensive debate power in this topic. Havinng been driven to suicide by secular metal, and saved by christian metal.

WHOA! I looked in Psalms, and lo and behold, Psalm 342:45: "The Lord is my shepherd, He hath lame taste in music. He keepeth me from the evil rock-and-roll, he leadeth me to choirs of people who can't hold a tune"...oh wait, this is the Super-Conservative Bible for People Who Don't Approve of Interracial Marriages...

Erm, anyway, if that's all your school has to offer in way of evidence, then I think you can safely assume they don't want to be taken seriously.

I think it was Larry Norman who said it a few decades ago: "Why should the devil get all the good music?"

well, rock is fine. as long as the lyrics are ok. read phylippians 4:4. if it causes you to think bad thigns, then it is bad... classical doesn't. it's not christian, but it's considered good. read PHILLIPIANS $:$
