Well saw "Passion of the Christ" tonight, yea one day before it opens

, and I'm just speechless.  It's just so profound you HAVE to experience this for yourselves.  Do whatever it takes to get to see this, you'll feel the same after you do.
Oh, and for anyone concerned about accuracy or anything like that, this was dead on as far as I've ever heard the Bible.

i plan to watch by the end of this week...

this is an exciting opportunity for non-believers to really see what Jesus suffered for them...I encourage others to invite non-believers to this movie

and let them experience it.

Thanks for the post, I've heard that it was good, I was a little concerned about some of the "Director's Additions" but overall I heard it would be good.

The "Director's Additions" I am refering to is where Gibsen inserts the Devil throughout the movie talking and tempting Jesus. The bible doesn't mention it at all, but from what I saw (clips) it seems to be a reasonalbe conclusion.

One of the instances was when Christ was praying before being taking captive (while the deciples where sleep instead of staying watch) and Gibsen added Satan in trying to Temp Jesus and give him doubt. Satan was saying things like: Do you really think these people love you or will ever appreciate what you are doing?

Which I think is a reasonalbe assumption of what Satan would do, but the only problem is that there is no support for it.

Anway, thanks for the reveiw and I hope to see it this weekend!!!

I'm also seeing it tonight, I'll give a review of it if i can stand up from the fetal position after I watch it. -_-

just got home from seeing the movie, in my oppion i would of changed a few things, but none the less, WOW, after watching this movie, makes me feel total and completely worthless, because right now i am wasting my time at home, for stupid reason i left school ( www.occ.edu ) to come home, and now those reasons are gone, makes me feel like such crap i mean i feel like nothing i am doing now has meaning, and everything i do here is a waste. i know He has other plans for me but still its the way i have been feeling, and the movie just made it come out all the more. catch ya on the flipside.

I don't honestly doubt that Satan wouldn't be there in the garden trying to get Christ to turn away at one of the most crucial points in all of human history. Yea, it's not stated explicitly but I'd tend to think this would be the least of things happening, and that Satan was very much present at those times.
I really don't see anything that was "interpretted" upon as being off the mark, and giving a false image of what happened.
Oh, I just thought of one thing that was inaccurate though. They pierced them through the hands instead of the wrist. Mostly cause through the hand the nail will "slide" out of the hand, and in Christ's case break bones which was prophesied wouldn't happen. Minor point and probably would have been "harder" to show, and made less sense to the unknowing public.

toe theres a hudge debate that is on going about that, because It also says that no bone will be broken, and even going through the hands, it will not just slide out since he was also tied up onto the cross. think about it why not, if it slides out more pain and a slower death, if not then the nails can possible make the holes bigger still causing more pain, and suffering hence the whole point of the cruxifiction, and that is why the romans may have done it that way, where as in the wrist you are right you have 2 bones that you can go inbetween, and it may still slide there, but you dont have to worry about them "falling" out, we will never know until we where either there, or He shows us himself, i expect the latter to happen first.

All I have to say is, if you can handle a disturbing movie, you should see it.

SPOILER

The only problem I had was the parts with the demons tormenting Judas. Long, drawn out and totally unnecessary.

But I enjoyed seeing satan screaming his head off at the end. 0wn3d

Actually, I think that part concerning Judas was well scripted and played out, because you know, in his head, he probably did have demons of his own after him.

Props to Mel Gibson for a job well done..

Yes, I also go with just as the Bible stated -- through His hands, not his wrist.

Remember, one of the Gospels was taken directly from an apostle who was a doctor. I think he knows the difference between a hand and a wrist.

All in all, let's not get distracted with what MIGHT NOT have been PERFECT about the movie (Humans made it people, c'mon.....) and go with what is RIGHT about the movie.

We basically just had one of Hollywood's most influential members stand up and say, "Screw you, secularism. Bring it, Jesus."

It could be a turning point in our country, possibly the world.

Oh, and anyone hear about Britney Spears "Renewing her vows to Christianity" ?

Maybe I'm not so far off......

Van -- Luke was not an apostle. Nor did he actually see the crucifiction. Rather his gospel, is an accounting he received from talking with the other apostles.

as well, if memory serves, during this time period, the concept of the hand went all the midway up the forearm.

but at the same time Kidan it is still the gospel and God breathed and inspired, so i doubt our great physician luke messed up

Hate to cut in like this, but I haven't had a chance to see it yet. I saw the trailer when it was released, and there's not many words to describe how awesome it was.

The thought of seeing a reenactment of our Lord being crucified and beaten is, I confess, hard to watch.

I've heard reports of many liberal movie reviewers talking about how good the movie was! Talk about amazing!

I can't see the movie yet (the theatres are sold out at least until Sunday), but I plan to see it when I can, as well as get the DVD when it's released.

I saw the movie last night and all I can say is the wow factor is way up there. My church rented out a theater and I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. I mean it just leaves us as Christians thinking of how unworthy we are and how much He loved us. I can never thank my God enough for what He has done. I think we should not focus on the whether the nails were in the hand or the wrist, but the meaning of the movie and what it means to our non believing community and the Jews who are saying we tried to pin the death of Jesus on them. In 700BC when Isiah predicted the death of Christ he pointed the blame directly at God, which I believe in all my heart is where it should be, and praise him for it; for if it would not have happend we would all be damned to an enternity of darkness and fire.
