Does anyone happen to know a good, safe way to get syrup of an unknown age off the read side of a cd? Windex didn't seem to do the trick.

I have no idea how it got there, just part of the joy of having a family...
-sigh-

just run warm water over it... the water will eventually break it up and wash it clean. You could also soak it in warm water with a mild detergent. WARM water is the key - hot water may warp it.

The warm soapy water is your best bet, just make sure you dry it carefully and then let it sit for about an hour to make sure there is no residue left.

Scrape it of with your car keys, and buff it with some sandpaper!

You are forgetting to first use the microwave to heat up the stuck syrup to get it loose. Then using butter (or margarine) to help make it slick before the sand paper.

unfortunatly due to the metal inside the disc the microwave would get all sprkly then go poofies long before you'd actually heat anything up other than the internals of the microwave itself.
