My puter has burned up!

Our group in BRD with the infamous Connor of Osk fame was so intense it caused my puter to melt something. Not sure what yet. Smelled something burning, and then my screen went blank:(. I will take it in this week, but I will be out until it is fixed.

Actually, I am sorry to hear your computer is sick. I hope that it gets fixed quickly and we will see you back on very soon.

the most common compenent ive had die lately was the motherboard, 3 dead in a year (I manage alot of computers tho), if it powers on and there is no post beep and only the drives and fans power on its likely the mobo. If it starts beeping like a mad driver chasing after someone who just sidended him, its your cpu or memory
 
Yeah my desktop at home just had a case of a blown out video card, I suspect that the motherboard is fine though (as it looks like it boots once I removed the video card).

Some computers (like my Dell) have error code lights on the back. You might want to see if any are lit in a non-ok state. If so it might help you figure out what died (after you download the manual).

And, while I was there they had a hot deal on 2 512 chips of ram that I picked up with my birthday money I had been holding on to, so now I have 2g of ram:) Can't wait to see if it makes a difference tonight:)

It is wonderful! Huge difference! NO LAG in IF. I can run thru there with barely a hitch at all. Went to BRD last night and the only lag I had was server side at one point when looting. The graphics are much smoother and everything looks better. I can even see the faces in the wisps now! :)
I highly recommend 2g of ram for everyone! :)
