I'm so angry right now.

And it is worse that I can't swear here (swore my head off the entire game).

I can't take it anymore. I'm retiring from ladder for a few days to cool off.
Why do noobs who don't even have the basic controls (obviously never even finished campaign yet) get grouped with us? Most of my losses are due to 1 or more pple stuffing up big time, semi afk or just being so stupid. Sometimes I wish realID was forced so I can go give them a piece of my mind. On second thought they would probably just shrug it off as 'just a game' when it is LEAGUE.

Don't they know its RANKED and some hardcore pple take it VERY seriously?

On the other hand, when I do win, I often feel sorry for my enemies, because it is also usually because someone was being stupid.

Hey take it easy man. Not everyone on B-net is as good as you. Everyone has their skill levels. Some people might feel the same way about you. If your playing a 2v2 or 3v3 or 4v4 with RANDOM team mates. This IS going to happen. Find a group of people you know and would like to play with on your team. If you win a few games together with the same people, B-net will give you harder opponents to play against.

One thing you have to remember as well is the league rankings...I am in Bronze league...and I play it off as "just a game"...I am not big on competition...but I like playing people online...that is pretty much why I am in the bronze league...But I also never play 2v2 or higher without a group of people I know...and are in TS...

That is why the only base I ever use for knowing a player's skill is the 1v1 rankings. Anything more (even 2v2) is no indicator of a person's abilities, and shouldn't ever be taken seriously. This goes for all games, not just Starcraft. I've had some pretty "What the Crap?" moments in every multiplayer RTS I've ever played.

DoW II can get horribly annoying in this regard, when you've got someone who refuses to build units so they can tech up faster, leaving the other players to scramble like madmen to make up for it. >.>

Very well. I better learn to 1v1 then.

EDIT: Update, finished placements and ended up in gold with 3/5, dunno how it happened (3/5 should be silver amirite?), don't expect to be able to stay there very long though as I doubt I'm that good...

No, you have to remember, people just bought the game so they have no idea how to play the game, how Battle.net works, etc.

When I play BW games, most of the players screw up because they don't know how to use hot-keys/units abilities. Such as a Dark Archon's Maelstrom or High Templar's Psi Storm.

They are noobs, yes, but unfortunately they just bought the game.

They just bought the game but THOSE IDIOTS didn't try it out in singleplayer first or do even a few practice matches. I hate people like that, who claim they are new, when there is a great new player program already in place. ITS CALLED THE TUTORIALS.

Why don't you give that anger to Jesus?

Yeah, Silver

Jesus has a broadband connection for that kind of thing. He can handle all you throw at him.

Trust me man, just pray about those things that frustrate you and God will work them out. Also, it's not our job to look down on other players.. Satan's already fully employed doing that, so we can focus on more pressing matters like helping those players out. :)

How can we have a better community if we don't educate those around us? It's our job to do that :)

Thanks Bowser for saying something. Honestly this lady is quite upset with the tone and attitude of this thread.

How are we supposed to show our love of Jesus to others when using such negative words and honestly abusing people with them?

I have been burdened by this thread for several days now because of the anger and hurtfulness in it.

This community is supposed to be a group of Christians who like to game not a group of gamers who just happen to be Christian. I would like to believe that each of us could find better ways to get rid of the "disappointment" we feel in any situation without constantly throwing out hurts to other people. (Get a notebook and write it down for your personal satisfaction. I know I truly do not want to "hear" about how someone can't play such and such game the way someone else thinks they should.)

Silver I would also go as far to say that I feel you owe this community an apology for ranting and raving about honestly something that is "just a game." Faith, God, family, health and a variety of other things are more important than how someone plays a game. I can say with one hundred percent certainty, I would not feel comfortable playing any game if all of the gamers have the attitude that you have expressed.

Blessings and Hugs, "Angel"

Thanks man, but I'm not going to go bothering God about some unimportant (to everyone else but me) online game. So I don't think throwing MMO-rage at Jesus would be the right thing to do.

And I'm just complaining about how inconsiderate some people can be, and expressing my rage that these people didn't go play some practice matches first even though there is an excellent system in place for that. Sorry if you interpreted it as more than that. This is no way directed at the people here, who I'm sure don't go around ruining games for others without trying their best. And litsafalda, it is a game, but sorry I wouldn't say it is 'just a game'. I take this pretty seriously, its the only hobby I have - gaming. And I take it seriously and competitively. My dream is to enroll in some professional league later in life. I'm NOT just playing for fun.
Though I'm rather noob right now so it will probably just remain a dream to become some kinda 300APM champion.

Either way, I have taken Arkon's recommendation and after playing 1v1, life is good again. Far from pro, don't expect to be able to stay in gold very long, but don't want to fall below silver.

And lit, sorry if the tone is a little harsh, it isn't directed at anyone here. It isn't the newbies who are trying their best that I have a problem with (as you implied), but rather those who know they are some harbinger of defeat and are still going around anyway and make no effort to improve. Or sit afk the whole game. Those are the people I have a problem with, and there are A LOT of them.

God is not smaller than our biggest problems or too big for our smallest problems. It's a hard thing to ask, to give your anger over to Jesus, especially when it's anger about something such as a video game. But you said it yourself, and your frustration amplifies the point that you DO take it seriously, and if you're taking something seriously, then more the reason to make sure you and Jesus are right with it.

I've struggled with frustration and anger in video games for years, I still do... when I get frustrated to the point where I'm about to start tearing down other players, I know that I'm getting out of control. If I'm going to be spending my time playing video games, it's the VERY LEAST I can do to play like a Christian. I hope what I have said isn't taken offensively or anything, just as someone who has stuggled and continues to struggle with anger in videogames, I think my insight could be helpful.

You might think it's unimportant, but the fact of the matter is it made you angry. And the Word says not to let the sun go down while you are still angry. Since there's no specific person who has offended you, this is something that needs to be lifted up to God.

I know what it's like to get angry over a video game, since I'm a former WOW player. On the server I was on there was a druid who used to typhoon people off their flying mounts as they left Dalaran and mock them after killing em (before they fixed it so you can't get knocked off mounts). If it gets to the point where you're taking stuff in a video game to heart, it may be a sign that you need to take a break from it.

I'm glad to hear things are better after doing 1v1s. I may need to start doing that & watching gameplay videos to improve my game.

Yeah admittedly I'm not very good at 1v1, but I'm much happier now that my losses are due to my own skill, or lack thereof. You do have a point there, maybe virtual rage still counts as 'real' anger. This is my only hobby and so I take it pretty seriously. Thanks for understanding, talking to people who can relate sure helps.

I'm glad your doing better. If you ever want to 1v1 or 2v2. Hit me up for a game or two.
