Don't know why, but I've been thinking a lot about this...

If you were stuck on a desert island, and could only bring 1 item, what would it be?

I would bring a shank. Some possible uses would include...

Hunting
Protection against natives
Minor surgery's
Cutting wood/leaves for shelter
Cutting your hair
Cut up coconuts/mangos
Widdling to pass the time
Carving a dug out canoe to escape
Fend off crazy monkeys (Could fall under protection)
Bang against a rock to make sparks for a fire
Use as a single pronged fork
Use to reflect sunlight at passing planes
Open canned goods you happen to find
Herbalism? (Running out of ideas)


What would you bring?
 
OR I would bring Brug and his pitchfork, and a lot of the same things could be accomplished. (IE, fending off crazy monkeys, and minor surgery's) But i think that's 2 items. :(

i'd bring a hearthstone..

free trip home.


(btw, you can skin things with a knife too. then make clothes and what not..)
 
i was thinking the same thing rofl, call me old fashioned but I call them knives, when I think shank I think sharpened toothbrush handle or something
 
I would bring my 1060 Carbon Steel Katana...it would work much better than a shank...for basically the same reasons...

I would bring a picture of Kara to keep my happy all the time just to see a picture of someone I love and that would help me be stronger and be able to do any task ahead of me on a deserted island. :P
 
I'd bring a Laptop with a fully charged battery and a satalite uplink for internet access and a built in GPS so I can inform the world of my situation and they can find me. I choose not to remain stranded on an island.
 
When my daughter woke me up at 3am, i was thinking I might bring a Whoopie Cushion! Possible uses include...

Making funny fart noises (Could be used to play jokes on the natives)
Carry water
Makeshift scuba air supply
Boyant float for swimming

But really i'd just want it for the funny fart noises. It would keep me entertained for years to come.
 
I'm kinda thinking that I'd bring a 120 foot yacht. I mean, if I'm going to get myself off the island, I might as well do it in style. :D
