so the requirement for heroics is i329
i heard even at that you will still struggle

i think the best item you can get from normal is i333
so if i am equiped with all i333 will i still struggle in heroics?
i think the answer is yes.

so then how do i prepare for heroics?

besides having all the enchants and food buff

btw, i am i323 right now :) so close

From what I've heard and read, the "difficulty" isn't solvable by gear, but by skill/teamwork. WotLK heroics could be facerolled by any decently geared group. Tank pulls all mobs, dps AOE down the mobs, healer makes and eats a sandwich. /rinse /repeat. Cata heroics go back to hard classic instances (e.g. Dire Maul, Scholo, Strat) or early BC heroics ... where CC is mandatory. Where if dps pulls aggro or a tank has more than 2 mobs on him/her, the demand on the healer will lead to a quick oom and a wipe.

I get the impression that heroics aren't terrible so long as CC strategy and teamwork is used (at least the early ones ... many are genuinely hard hard, like how heroic SH was in early BC). However, you're dependent on your group. And since many pugs are still full of folks who pursue the Leroy Jenkins approach to dungeoning, the dungeon finger is potentially a frustrating tool.

I was just reading a resto drood cata guide on EJ, and the writer say he was making a macro for spamming in heroic pugs:
"Welcome to Cata! You cannot take extra damage, healer mana is not infinite anymore! You cannot pull threat, you cannot stand in bad stuff, and you must learn to interrupt and CC!"

... quite on point, I thought.

thanks :)

well right now i have tailoring too...
should i switch to something else so we don't have the exact same professions?

i don't know how it happened, but we both have enchant/tailor

Well with tailoring you can embroider your own cloak with lightweave and you can do the best leg enchant very cheaply with some tailoring thread.

Yea I've been healing with my paladin and its nothing to sneeze at. In WotLK I would waste heals when I had some procs up just to see much I could crit for but not anymore. Especially with the recent holy power nerf to which Blizz's answer was "go stand in the fire to get more holy power from Blessed Life". Really Blizz? Your answer is-hey go over there and get hit by something so you can heal cause we broke you cause we are lame.

Anyway, yes cc and situational awareness are very important now. Also from a raiding perspective tailoring is one of the best proffs for casters. If you do drop it tho feel free to send any leftover cloth to me for my tailor :P

I have no issues in Heroics with ilvl 329-333... though I'm higher now.
