Hey Mac gamers: Play TF2 with us

I own TF2 and have played it for maybe 30 minutes since I bought it over a year ago :P ...I understand how to play but the game modes confuse me a little and I can't play it with my friends because they cannot afford it :P

Maybe I should bust it back out and give it another try...

This is the saddest thing I have read today. It makes me weep inside.

EDIT: And yes, we need some Mac "gamers" to help increase our kill counts. So download it, fire it up, and join the Tribe of Judah TF2 server!

I probably will, but that will probably only last a couple weeks...I am on "summer break" from work (that is code for laid off due to lack of work during the summer LOL), and when I go back I work evenings... :(

That means you have to play extra long to get your TF2 fix!

I played the tutorial and offline practice, it's fairly impressive. :D

I thought they were kidding or talking down to Mac users when they mentioned that in the blog post. I was unaware that the offline practice mode is a real thing.

That is good news for players who are new to FPS games and are too shy to learn on public servers. *coughEmbercough*

Well, personally I get tired of being called a noob and other worse colorful words... When I was on OUR servers the first time I played TF2, I was cussed at for not knowing what I was doing...

Bwah? When did this happen?

There's almost always an admin around when the server has players on it. If an admin isn't on the server, you could always message one of us on Steam.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience the first time you played the game. I can understand how that would do away with your desire to stick with the game. :(

It was early morning, and an admin was informed since there was a few of us on and we all were upset by it...

tempted to load it to my macpro at work since im there late most days anyways :)

As long as it's ok with your employer and you make sure it won't snag/keep your password I'd go for it (viruses or TF2 junkies could steal it O.o :p ). You get free earbuds if you log in TF2 from a mac so even if you don't play it more than once free gunk is good. The earbuds also make you an adorable target for all the people bitter not having free earbuds. Everybody dogpile on the Mac user! :p

We all had to start at some point. I still feel like I'm "starting" some days. . .

Did I ever mention the time I combined "all" my acquired weapons to make scrap metal? Oh yeah, I'm still trying to get several of them back. It wasn't on purpose, mind you. I didn't realize it affected equipped weapons. Boy I felt dumb when I went in to play after crafting and wondered where my favorite weapons were. . .

This is annoying. I don't like it when the long time players forget that they were new at one point. It makes them look like snobs and turns potential players off from a fun game.

Of course, I still laugh with my brother at the time in Natural Selection when the commander or our team told me to never pick up the HMG again. Something to do with me swinging it wildly around trying to hit a skulk who managed to kill me anyway. Good times. My bro pre-ordered NS2 for my birthday last month. Hopefully it is good. Anyone else here planning on grabbing this game?

If I don't get to it first. Roughly 10 years of experience may have just made me the fastest banhammer in the West. Or East.

QFT.

So much <3 for NS.

I plan to pre-order Natural Selection 2 closer to release or after I get a permanent (as in not temporary or project-based) job. I'd love to get the Special Edition, but don't see myself able to justify the extra $20 any time soon.
