Helping Others

Just remember. Even though we talk about getting ready for raids and getting everything all organized. Remember not all of us are "geared" like the raiding groups already organized and farming. If we ALL wish to progress to "raid group" status, please remember to help the rest of us trying to join in. Not trying to sound like I'm saying nobody helps but it seems lately that the only people that are raiding are the same 25 people. It's true that not all of us are "geared" and equipped to handle Naxx or OS. Just remember to help us from time to time. I've been looking for help getting my trinket for a week now and Belenah and Tree are the only ones to offer their help and tag along to ensure we make it through to the end. (blasted HoL... Give me my trinket )

This was the type of thing that split up my first guild in Everquest. (That is when Tigole left and joined Legacy of Steel). The guild ended up splitting into two parts. One guild for people ready to raid and already leveled. One "sister" guild for probationary members and members trying to level. Once they reached a certain level, they would then transfer to the raiding guild. If someone wasn't interested in raiding, they would stay in the leveling guild. This was when it could take 60 or more players to finish off a dungeon also. It worked out quite well that way.

I'm only lvl 76 right now (almost 77) but I'm willing to help anyone with any instance that I'm high enough level to go to. Right now I'm disc spec so I can heal. I'm thinking about going back to shadow though until lvl 80. I miss the dark side!

If anyone has an alt they want ran through a lower instance, I'll do that also. I won't run low level mains through instances since I think that is where you learn most group dynamics and if you get ran through, you don't learn them.

I'll offer my services to anyone that needs to run 5 mans to gear up, it's a great way for us to learn from each other and also have a lot of fun. So, if you need a Dwarf Rogue just give me a shout:)

I've run R HoL lately to help a guildy try and get that trinket. But why, out of all the places they could put that thing did they put it in a REGULAR instance? Nobody goes to regular instances once they hit 80 because heroics are easy and you get more out of it. Asking people to run something that they'll get almost nothing from (not even badges) is going to be like pulling teeth. There's so many other things that you could do with that time that would benifit everyone in a group.

And to the OP, there's not really a need to be "geared up" for the raids in WotLK. If you are skilled at your class and can perform what's asked of you you'll be fine. I'm not saying be lazy... read up on bosses, study optimal rotations, but don't worry if you aren't in heroic epics.

I'm guessing you mean you aren't defense capped by your "geared up" comment? Defense cap is important if you are a tank... so you will have to meet that of course. Gem for defense to try and get there.

I'm game for tanking to help out others. I'm still trying to get purple gear. I successfully tanked heroic VH the other day so i'm on my way to my pants. Just give me a shout online and i'll help. I know what it feels like to be left behind.

PS...I'm leveling up my lvl74 resto Shamy if anyone needs a healer. I can handle instances up to 4 times my level. Heals are 1337!

I'll help ya... Im always up for a Rep run or two or three or ...well you get the idea... Shoot me a whisper and I'll try to make it...

Many of us do help people get items...I cant tell you how many times we ran Tanks and healers through HoL and HoS

Best way to have a huge group of people available is before 6 ST on Mondays and Fridays cause after that its Raid time but in the middle of the week Im game for help as well as Sat and Sun... RL Schedule permiting

As much as I enjoy endgame runs, I enjoy the entire gme content. The teamwork and fellowship for a good instance that is challenging is really enjoyable.

However, on the otherside of the coin is the gaming for the pure fun of the game. I recently bought my grandson a subscription in hopes of the required reading being good practice for him since he needs a lot of help in reading. And it is working. He has leveled one toon to 20 and what does he do? He creates another class for the pure fun of it. Yes - it is in his comfort zone, but he is getting some much needed practice. And as a grandad - I am enjoying just watching him. Well worth the expence to me!

just remember to make his parents turn off all chats but guild chat, or he will get some non-required reading you may not want him to have, some nasty stuff in gen/trade chat channels.......

Umm - we are his "parents" since we are raising him and his brothers. And yes - marvelous idea. I usually have trade chat off since it is such a bother. He is a great kid!
