i downloaded a file off kazaa to "liberate" my version of photoshop that i have now had to uninstall and go back to my legal version of elements (bah i need cmyk)

anyway the file opened up a dos prompt and i think did nothing. i have checked through my system and it seems ok. the problem is it wont delete. it says it is being used by a process. but i have no foreign processes running O_O

how do i get rid of it? i could try a dos boot but anyone know how to find a boot disk?

to create a boot disk

1. insert blank disk
2. open my computer and right click on A:
3. click format
4.  select "create ms-dos startup disk"

edit: what ver of ps was it?? and scan scan scan

Use this scanner to check and make sure it really did nothing:

If you really are clean, then everything is okay and Seeker is correct. If Windows truly won't let you delete the offending file, booting into an OS other than Windows is the solution.

Usually a reboot will solve most sharing violations though.

Tip: Run the scanner again after you reboot to make sure the reboot didn't "wake the virus up". (Most viruses set themselves to start after a boot).

i have avg installed and it didnt pick anything up. i will try and create a dos boot and get it.. i think its just annoying me.

What OS are you running? If you're running some version of Windows, when you boot your computer, hit F8 to bring up the boot menu. Then just select boot to command prompt and you can delete the file.

okie after much pain and tears trying to find my hdd in dos i had a brainwave.. i downloaded a file off the net and saved over the existing file. funnily enough it had no problems. so i have safely removed it.. w00t

unfortunately i still need my cmyk palette.

pilgrim.. yes please..

Rizz, contact me on AIM (Seiesnalli) this afternoon, and I'll get that file off your computer in a jiffy.
