Help choosing Heroes of the Storm Mega Hero Bundle?

With the release of Heroes of the Storm 2.0, Blizzard is giving all current players their choice of a Mega Hero Bundle. Each bundle includes 20 heroes.

My problem is that I haven't played enough HotS to know which characters I like and I'm assuming I need to decide before a deadline.

Of the 4 choices (Assassin, Flex, Support & Specialist, Tanks & Bruisers), I'm leaning toward Flex because it includes Li Li.

My favorite character to play in League of Legends was Morgana. I was never going to top the scoreboard--and I was fine with that--but Morgana was just fun to play and I felt like I could make meaningful contributions to my team even at my skill level.

So do the HotS experts among us have a recommendation?

It's hard to know what to suggest since I don't know your play style very well.

for me, looking back, I wish I had started with li ming and chrome because it would have forced me to learn positioning much better. So on that note, avoid stealthy characters altogether.

flex and or healing might suite you moving forward in learning though.

I favor zagara for zoning out people bit alot of specialists have fallen off the radar since they barely output enough dmg.

that being said, sgt hammer would be a good trial character

Just realized Li Li is in both the Flex and Support & Specialist bundles. That complicates things.

I tend to favor support classes, but LoL's toxic community discouraged me from playing a healer. Morgana was fantastic because she had survivability, AOE for area denial, and crowd control.

I don't have the map knowledge to play a jungler and I don't have the skill to play a squishy assassin. That plus Li Li's inclusion in the Flex and Support & Specialist bundles has me leaning toward one of those sets.

I don't intend to play HotS often, so when I do, I want to be able to jump, quickly shake off the rust, and make a meaningful contribution to the team.

I went with Tanks and Bruisers simply because it was the only set that didn't include any of the 3 characters I already had. I was looking to maximize my gain rather than cater to a specific play-style of my own (since my play-style is generally advance, die, respawn, advance, die, respawn...).

Patriot, I did the same.

Tek, so healers are fine. Lili has some tendencies r though that will hinder your growth so I would recommend bumping to a rehgar, malfurion, Lucio for better support roles.

also when u are looking at characters, do look at builds for the characters to help jump start the experience. even if you don't know how to play a character, knowing the build will help you to know how to focus with them.

hotslogs.com is a great resource too.

E.g., don't pick characters with lower than 47% win rate. You might not know if they are under powered and get frustrated with heroes that are unintentionally setup to fail.

Lucio, Malfurion, Rehgar, and Li Li are all included in the Support & Specialist bundle, so I think I'm going to snag that one.

And then promptly ignore the game for 3 months.

On a related note, Blizzard's "Which bundle is right for you?" quiz pointed me to the Support & Specialist bundle as well.

I think we have a match!

I ended up choosing the Support & Specialist bundle. Tried out Lucio and Zarya last night. (I already had Zarya, but I played her for the first time last night.) I liked them both!

I plan on only playing HotS socially with ToJ folks, so I'm content with my "purchasing" decision. :)

Yayayayayayaya! That was super fine yesterday. I really really enjoyed myself playing with people.

We even did some QM later with Sloth and it worked out pretty well

I'm currently leaning away from Tanks simply because there aren't a lot of characters that make me go "I"d play that!" in it. Obvious exception in Xul.

I like that Support has Auriel and Tyrael, but I think most of the set makes me go, "ehhhh."

So I'm down to Assassin and Flex. Assassin's combo of Nova, Raynor, and Valla makes me go "oooooh." Li Ming and Kerrigan also hold much appeal. Flex has the most variety (at least among characters that interest me), and includes Lost Viking and Arthas (who apparently has a Crown Prince skin).

Decisions about things that don't matter all that much are hard. :p

to that, I would say learn what counters what :)

I've been playing rank alot and even if I'm not good or experienced with a hero, ill draft pick one to counter and win almost every time choosing good counters
