Happy to be here

Hello, everyone. Thanks for inviting Evan and me to The Forgiven last night. As he said in his post, we do know how to play the game, so we're not complete newbies. :) I had a 60 Paladin, and a 40 Rogue on another server. I'm going with the Pally again...I absolutely love that class!

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. Take care!
Laura

It never ceases to amaze me how this game caters to all sorts of different people!! I am soo glad that you love paladins because generally we're a bit short of pally power (Grymorgan and Berstromme are our regular 60 pallies). Many of the people in this guild have alts but generally gravitate to the class that they enjoy the most. Good to know that we'll have another person who loves the pally class.

Welcome aboard! I haven't been on much lately but I hope to meet you and your husband in game real soon. And don't be shy about asking for help with stuff, that's what we are here for.

Wait a minute Wend. I don't have an alt. I love all my classes. It is not my fault that.... Hey look a bunny. Oh pretty hopping bun..... I get side tracked easily. It is hard when you need things on...... where you going bunny. I didn't mean to scare..... a 60 to play one of the lowbies when runs are going on.

ROFL at Miker....

Yes Laura, we are thrilled to have you in the family. I look forward to grouping up and playing with yall. Please jump on TS anytime. Even without a mic. You can still listen and get to know each of us. We have lots of sarcastic people and this gives you a chance to hear it in their voice. hehe

Thanks, guys. I did download Teamspeak. I configured it it and everything, so I can hear you, I just don't have a microphone, yet. Evan and I will try to get our toons leveled up as fast as we can. Are there other low characters around so we can group with guildies for the lower level dungeons? If not, we can do the pick-up-group thing. :)

There are always lower level mains and alts around. I have 2-3 in the teens to low 20's right now but I really should work on leveling one of them before the expansion comes out.

I've got 3 or 4 characters at various levels that I can bring out to do instances. I can't swear to it that I'll be any good with them, but I'll certainly come out and die with you :)

I have more characters then I can count. Just let me know if you need help. They range from 16 - 60 atm.

I think finding alt willing to come help yall or just play with yall, for the most part is not a problem. Most of us have multiple alts. Sooo.... just speak up anytime you need anything. Also, I know when Kirk and I were leveling our 1st toons over here, anytime we saw someone on that was around our level, we would see if they wanted to group up with us. It helped us get to know more people on a one on one basis.

In general, we do not support power leveling. We feel that doing so takes away a large part of the game. However, once you have "suffered" through leveling at least one toon to 60, we are more than happy to help with others. Since you leveled to 60 on another server, you are considered to have put in your time.

When you're ready for Deadmines, just holler, and I'll run you through lickety split. We do have a Quest/Professions forum that you post in to ask for help. You can also create an event using Group Calendar.

Speaking of Group Calendar, have looked at the addons we use?

Thanks for all the offers of help. :) And, of course, if I can be helpful in any way, I'm available and happy to help.

You know, thinking about this, I'm wondering if I should look into transferring my 60 Pally to this server. Evan could transfer his 60 mage. I hate that I'm so little and am of no use to anyone in the guild. That being said, not sure how much use I'd be as my 60, either. The reason is the highest instance I've ever been into was BRD I believe. I have no knowledge of any of the others, and places like Strat and Scholo I'd only been to a couple of times. So, what do you guys think? I'm trying my BEST not to play while Evan's at work, because we want to play together, so we're really only going to be on a few evenings and the weekends. It will take me a while to level up there.

Basically, I don't know what to do. I just remember it taking a few months to get to 60 before, and I'd really like to help out with the higher instances now. Any thoughts?

I am of the mindset that the game drastically changes at 60 and in essence it also begins at 60. I have a little more experience than Laura at, what was the time, high end instances. I have run up through MC and have been through UBRS more times than I remember. Personally, I prefer the "end game" but I am also an altoholic(tm). I know I could bring a lot more to the table as a 60 and work on an alt when nothing is going on. I also love the option and availability to help others with a higher level toon when needed. I will discuss this with Laura, but, I think the decision has already been made and it will just be a matter of time before you see Joanie and Chachi in /gu (assuming the names are not already taken).

First off, do what ever seems right. I know that for 2 chars that is $50 right there to move them. Some people think that is to expensive and others think it is a reasonable amount. I moved one char over and to be honest, I haven't played him since and am considering deleting him. I do have 4 L60s though also. I know a waste of money but still.

We always have enough lowbies on to help you or wouldn't mind help from you. Also you can always start up another char so that you can level one while he is at work and level the other one with him. There are always options.

As far as L60s we can always use help in the highend instances. Most of us old timers have other characters that we need to gear up that require the those instances.

I did transfer my one and only 60 here from a PvP server for the same reasons your considering it. I was also in the same boat as far as end game instances but it really wasn't nor is it a problem. We run UBRS on Mondays and ZG on Fridays. During the weeks other runs are more throw together runs so I think I have been in Scholo once and Strat (dead??) once. But I know my way around ZG pretty good now :)

I live the variety, whether it is bring up an alt, or pvping with a character, or end-game with another, I like it all. Having your 60s here will provide you A-Z of opportunities but the cost vs benefit is one you will have to make. Oh, I would like to say, I completely agree that WoW doesn't really start until you hit 60. I have noticed we have plenty of folks who like to take in the 5 mans almost nightly. We have our 10 (ubrs) and 20 (zg) runs a week but there are soooo many more runs available for Onyx, MC, AQ20 (plus others) via our SGA that there is always something going on. I also like my down time, I know I'm weird for having two 60s with 300 fishing but I enjoy it (never thought I would say that) and it is a good source of money. Lots to do and so little time to do it in :)
