Hacked!

True, I was using Firefox. I also use Gmail only, so no OE for me. All of the messages that he sent me were plain-text.

What type of firewall do you have? I'm tempted to load smoothwall on to a computer for some protection.

errr, did anything special happen to the hosting ur letting me use? also isnt there a way to use a linux box as a firewall machine?

When you do a FTP login it saves a cookie, or is it just when you do a html login?
When you log in with an FTP client, it doesn't save a cookie. The cookie that had been hacked was the one that was set by the GoDaddy panel, where I manage my domains.

Nope, nothing at all. Fortunately, no attacks were made on the web server itself, so everything is currently stable. However, me and my network administrator will be making full backups of all the sites very soon.
The fiewall i run is actually a linux variant. I run ipcop with the addons server..the cop+ server and then copfilter.

Okay, good deal. Thanks.

That was a fairly unique being-hacked story. Usually the hacker doesn't ask before taking things. Still, that sounds like no fun at all.
