Good set of mail armor for a level 40 Hunter?

I originally hoped to collect all six pieces of the Chain of the Scarlet Crusade, but I abandoned that after running SM about 10 times and never seeing a blue Scarlet Mail armor piece drop.

I have all seven Tough Scorpid recipes, but I noticed that, though they give a very nice Agility bonus, they don't provide a bonus to Stamina--which is, as I understand it, a Hunter's second most important stat.

Currently, I plan to craft and wear all seven pieces of Tough Scorpid armor, but I wanted to ask the expert Hunters in the guild:

Is there a set of mail armor especially designed for level 40-45 Hunters? If not, can you recommend a good "build" of quality armor pieces that don't require ridiculous amounts of time farming or gold?
 
There are no hunter oriented sets at 40-45. The best I can say is grind mobs hope for something good to drop, do quest and get nice rewards. The AH is also nice for gear (things that end in off the monkey, many people put up green things for 1-3 g at lvl range. Look at the armour compare to what you have, check to see if the upgrade is worth it.
I used a lot of leather armour while I was lvling, then spent time grinding instance for beaststalkers. Just because you can wear mail doesn't mean you should upgrade to it, there are a lot of cases in which a lower quality of armour is prefered because of the stats and benefits (ex. druid/pallies taking cloth with + healing on it). Also let your pet do the tanking when your lvling, don't out dps it o/w you'll pull hate in instances (which can never be a good thing unless MT's are dead).
