Gen Con Indy: Is it worth it?

Hi All,

My family (wife and 11 year old son) is big into both board games and console/PC games. We are considering attending Gen Con Indy this year, for the first time.

Has anyone gone? Was it worth the time and expense? What did you spend your time doing?

I live near Indy, but have never gone, but I know many who do, and they say to NEVER miss it... They seem to always really enjoy it...
