Matthew 25:14-15 (KJV)
"For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods.
And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey."
We are all given our own portions to invest in this world for the profit of the next, but the Lord knows all our differing abilities and does not give us more to work with than He knows we can handle. Knowing this, we shouldn't subject ourselves to comparison with others -- either to feel guilty compared to those who have more or proud compared to those who have less -- but we should keep in mind that we will all be called into account one day for what we do with the specific portion that has been individually assigned to us because it wouldn't have been given if there weren't some expectation that we could do something with it.
