"And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him"
While we are considering all our gift-giving and getting this holiday season, it is worth some time considering one of the first gifts God gave to mankind.
Husbands, do you honor and appreciate your wife as the gift of God to you that she is? And wives, do you stay mindful that your husband needs you, not just the things that you do, to be well and complete before God?
And single people who know they're not called to remain single for the Lord's service, you can take comfort in this verse and not be ashamed if you have difficulty with your singleness because He knows you have a need and will provide for this need as surely as He would any other. Couples should also be compassionate of their single friends, especially during the holiday season when it can be very hard watching others enjoy (or in some cases take for granted) something they also want but don't yet have.
