Error on the UT3 server

Hi,

I was on your UT3 server tonight and I got an error I thought you should be aware of. The message that was displayed looked like a section of your server config or something. Your server admin pass was displayed...

I have a screenshot that I took using xfire. Obviously, I won't just post it, but if you want me to email it to you I will - just let me know an address.

If nothing else, you might want to change that pass...

I'll send a PM to our Server Operator with a link to this thread so he can make the appropriate changes as soon as possible.
 
No problem. If your server operator needs the screenshot I took, or what exactly I did that generated the error, just let me know how best to get the info to that person. I didn't want to post it publicly and wasn't sure who to contact.

I'm guessing it was the result of a new voting mutator I tried. I have removed the mutator and changed the password. :o
 
Yes, it happened when I tried to vote for a map I didn't have... figured I'd download it from the server. There seems to be a common problem in UT3 with map downloads, where the player gets disconnected ... but I've never seen anything like that before.
 
Oh, how do you want me to send the screenshot to you? I don't know your email and I don't think my account here is setup to access PM's or Public Profiles (where your email might be...)

I see from your sig that you also use xfire - I'll send you an "add" request and can send it to you through that if you want me to...

Cthuluhu: Check the e-mail address you used to register your forum account and you should find an e-mail from forums@cgalliance.org with a registration link. Click that link to finish registering your account and you'll be able to access the PM system as well as post without your posts going into the moderation queue (which is why they've been taking so long to appear; a moderator needed to approve them manually).

I did that and I got the following message:

Your account has been activated but you are currently in the moderation queue to be added to the forum.
 
Just to let you know Capt. Tea, at the end of a match and the vote option is brought up, whoever is voting see's the maps they have installed as well as the server, so when someone chooses a map and its not on the server it comes up as a invalid URL, I know I have downloaded every map I can find in relation to UT 3, and the biggest problem I have is that even though I have the same version installed, I have to download the map again, the last few times has gone smooth and I Definitley Agree with Coldsteel, the vote/chat is very nice to have, it seems like the server is gaining in popularity :) Keep up the Great Job...

I have not experienced that, I only see the server maps when voting. I have lots of maps at home that aren't on the server too. There is a known bug that causes everyone to get disconnected and get an invalid URL error when switching maps and you need to download. Many of us admins are trying to get Epic to release a hotfix for that bug before the next patch because it empties the server out when guys get disconnected.

I have a new version of the vote mutator but I am waiting to see if I can get the old one removed from the public redirect so I can install it, because most guys seem to like it. I am also looking to find a different redirect solution.

Cthulhu: Would you mind sending a PM to SirThom, the CGA Forums Admin, with the text of the error message so he can investigate?

I just got home and there was a message stating my account had been activated, so I think it's fixed. Thanks!

Edit - yep, it's fixed. :)
 
Got the new map vote mutator on and set up DM, TDM and Instagib as votable gametypes :D. When you get the big long error when you get kicked before downloading maps it doesn't have any passwords in it anymore :p.
