Ive been using Nvu the last couple of days to build my new site, seems to work pretty good, plus its free :P

its really nice, tho I dont like how it outputs some of the code, eh whatever...

i still like my legal copy of dreamweaver better than nvu. nvu just didt have the intuitiveness that dreamweaver does

For some reason it seems that most freeware open source alternatives to ultra-expensive commercial software are not very intuitive in comparison to their counterparts. Gimp, Nvu, any linux video editor.

Gimp is beautiful. Unfortunately, you have to kind of unlearn what you know about Photoshop. It's kind of like tying your right arm behind your back so that you can 'teach' your left arm how to throw. I started working on a website layout at work and the only thing I had available was Gimp. It took a little longer but I figured out how to make it do what I wanted it to do.

most open source programs are designed to be modular, thats why alot of people have issues trying to learn them. I love gimp, simply because I dont want to dish out 600 bucks for a cs2 liscense.. I have used photoshop and premiere and aggree that they are wonderful, but gimp and nvu gets the job done for less.
