Hey guys - it's Red Letters. I know I'm not exactly a veteran player, but I just wanted to bring up something that's bothered me recently. I'm not sure who did all this, but we had a road leading to/from spawn, which is a great idea. Since then, this road has evolved to have an obsidian highway overhead, replete with vines and fencing on either side of the road on the ground. The obsidian highway (clearly spawned and not mined, and the same goes for the area it leads to) actually branches off and touches "my" area. I've not done anything to it, but the highway itself is kind of an eyesore, the vines block my view, and the fence makes it difficult to even cross the road. I understand that it's nice to have a mob-free walkway to your zone, but it's really coming at the expense of those of us who's zones were built over/right next to. Just a thought.

I am a veteran player and I second what Red/Flame is saying. Besides, he has worked hard to make a beautiful place there and it is detracting. Why can't the over head be even higher up? If you're too scared to walk at night down below, then go by day. If a creeper gets you, then just fill in the hole where the path is. For that matter, can't the path be moved over a little bit so it doesn't cause potential damage to red's area?

And Red/Flame - cut down the vines, they are not necessary and are just an intrusion. If you don't want to do it, I will. *grin* I don't mind getting in trouble once in a while.

Next time im on. I promise to link the nether portal there to the other one at old spawn that way they can just follow the path i make.

To be fair, the path was there before I was. But when I built, it was only a gravel road one block wide. I built there next to the road on purpose. :)

Ohhhhh so now you tell me the path was there first. :p Pffttssshhh In that case, YOU have to move Red. lol j/k

Talked with Cata (chapter leader) and he said he made the overhead path way because everyone was complaining about getting killed from spawn. He also said to take down the vine, he didn't put it there. And you can take down the fence by your area if you would like to.

If you did not make the branch off and don't want it, I'm sure it could be removed as well.

Haha, yeah - but when I built there it was just a 1-block gravel path. I didn't realize it was going to morph into what it did, or I'd have found a new place :D

It's all good - I'll probably look into a place further off in 1.9.

You can always join the Christian Pirates. We'll head off to find a place to settle, perhaps near another NPC village in 1.9 like we're at now and there will be plenty of untamed wilderness for you to build in. *shameless plug* hehe

Tsk tsk tsk Red, don't ya know this is minecraft? Little dirt shacks turn into grand, enormous castles within in days! lol What made you think a little gravel path wouldn't do the same. heheh Oh, that's right, your new to minecraft. :D

Koah - your funny! Ah real hoot ye r, arg!

Questions:

Do we get to raid said village(s), kill, loot and plunder? Can we do this to player houses as well? And most importantly - do we get to wear pirate skins?

Yes Flame you can wear pirate skins, and just because you are Flamethrower, you can be a gnome pirate. Just don't try any of your pyromaniac experiments on board the ship...I'm not sure we have enough water to put out that big of a fire XP

Fire will most likely be inevitable.
