Okay friends,

The last few days I have picked up WoW twice thinking about buying it. I keep setting it down. I have not really been drawn in to the game.

It might be that I was very disappointed with Warcraft 3 and Diablo 2. Which, I know makes me a minority.

What I need from you guys, especially those that played DAoC, is some selling points to help me get engrossed in the game.

One of the main reasons for the game is that there's a great guild and fellowship there.

Need I say more? hehe

But the game is more indepth than Camelot, and it actually encourages enjoyment. You get bonus XP when you rest your characters. The crafting system is very fun where you go out to collect your own herbs, mine for materials, or skin for leather. You can create cool gadgets with engineering, cook yourself a fine meal, or just relax by the sea and fish. The quests are involved and very interesting with choice of rewards and a great storyline. You can PvE, PvP against the hoarde, or even just enjoy roleplaying. There's ships to get on, griffins to ride, or inns to actually sit in chairs or sleep at.

If that's not enough, each character has been made special to make things interesting, and each race has an interesting storyline as well as interesting traits. Druids care for nature, can stealth, lightly tank, cast, heal, and change into forms from water breathing sea lions, stealthy cats, to dangerous bears and a couple others. Warriors have rage where the longer in combat, the more rage they have for special moves. Rouges have a neat thing called combo points, where certain moves trigger combo points; and the more combo points you have, the more powerful your 'finishing moves' are. You've got Irish Dwarves, Indian Taurens, Jamaican Trolls, (Italian elves?), dwarves dance like russians, etc.

There is so much detail and storyline and flexability and beauty to the game that for someone who takes their time and enjoys themself, it can provide a lot of good enjoyment. Wake up at an inn, go do a quest, relax to some fishing, and go back to the inn to 'sleep' your character, or camp out in the woods besides a self-made campfire.

And if THAT's not enough. Its a new world with new people. While we cannot preach the light of Christ openly, we can do so by our actions. Its a place of lost gentiles we can go to show what love truly is. While the NPCs are always blessing you with the 'light', you too can walk up to someone and say "bless you" or "can I pray for you" and while you're seeming to do so by the light, you're actually meaning the real thing.

So its a great and powerful world full of fun, adventure, fellowship, and missionary work. And there's plenty of us Christians there to keep you company. So come on over and bring your light and help us lamp another dark world.

It's not as much like WarCraft 3, at least, that's what I hear. It's only bad if you play as the Horde and stuff. If you want a review on it, here

How interesting that you cannot preach christ openly.

How do they word that in the TOS?

I did see that the guild name was revoked. Did you get a new one?

Yep icky thats one of my saddest things about this game. People can discuss vomit and feces but cannot discussion religion or have a guild name that could be thought of as religious in any sense regardless of what religiion it is. I had to turn off my general chat ..... like broad in daoc due to all of the foul language and such. Also people can call you rude names but heaven forbid we tell em we forgive em and that God does too. OK sorry Ill hush. Game play is a bit hard without finding people to kidnap but malo is right there are a lot of things to do. Maybe we just need a real pastor in there to help us figure out how to play with Chirst as our light...... smiles miss you bunches and lots of hugs. Blessings,"Angel"

The game is a lot of fun and has endless hours of content including questing, raiding, exploring, crafting, and all sorts of huge dungeons. If you enjoy any of the current mmorpg I don't see how you couldn't love wow.

Also it's not that they prevent anyone from spreading there faith they won't prevent you from that sort of talk in any of the chat channels, they do however police the guild names and player names very harshly (sometimes to harshly). They also seem to jump right on any exploiters, botters or hackers as they have already banned numerous cheaters (something more companys should do with this speed).

Sorry Odale. No friars exist in this world. All the Friars have been reduced to short order cooks. hehe. But there's plenty of fun classes to choose from. And there's a really beautiful cathedral in stormwind city that makes the camelot cathedral look like a cardboard box. hehe.

Once I figure out how to hold sermons without violating the TOS of blizzard, (and once I get settled and have the internet again.) I may start doing so there.

Well, to be hoinest Camelot Cathedral looked like a cardboard box Anyway. And ill find an Odale substitute.

(sry for typos, and stuff i dotn feel like editing)

ic (and odale if your having trouble deciding)
GET IT!!!111one

its like daoc, but they imporeved alot of stuff. the biggest pluses are
1donwtime is minimul almost seems like compared to daoc.
2there is like no lvl grind. losta quests, kill tasks, and instances which are bascially like miny raids if your not familair.
3you can solo very easily since you do alot of quests so your not like wating for grp.
4dont lose exp from deahs unless you choose (i have never lost exp yet)

its cartoony. if thats a problem. i also dont care about graphics ,personally, very much (whether they are good or bad).
there are some other minor things , very very minor. which may be patched one day so shoudlnt even be considered.

all in all its better than daoc. i logged in a few times to daoc, and its just soo boring now.

if you have any specific questions i can try to answer for you.
