Banned account...

So yesterday, my account was hacked. Don't really know how--my password is good and I'd just changed it. Anyway, nothing changed, no gold or items stolen, but a character was created named "Wowgoldoykx" (wonder what that was for). I was able to recover the account, and issued a statement to the billing department letting them know what happened.

THEN... tonight I get home from work, my account is disabled and I have an email letting me know that my account has been banned permanently for "being associated with accounts which have been closed for intended exploitation." Which frankly pisses me off--I mean, can that even possibly be their policy? Some Wowgold company in China hacks my account to spam advertisements, and then I get banned for it?!?

I'm calling Bliz tomorrow to try to work everything out, but I gotta tell you, if they're going to stick with this ban, there's no way I'm paying another $50 for the game. You'll just have to find yourselves another Druid. Hope you all have a good night!

Gee Chad, don't know what to say about that one. Your between a rock and a hard place and didn't even put yourself there. That stinks.
 
thats sad to hear it happened , now it makes me want to report every gold seller on stonemaul to avenge you.
 
Ouch! I hope Blizzard gives you a second chance and understands that you were hacked! It's not like this is an issolated problem. Lots of accounts probably get hacked and I know when I played WoW I'd see gold spammers all the time.
 
That stinks.

My password had an exclamation mark ( ! ) in it and I never had problems :D

If Blizzard got you your account back be sure to mention that.

Then don't watch videos cause they can't do justice. Watching any MMO video can rarely give you a good feeling of immersion into the game. Just trust those that have been playing the game or watching those in Beta play the game. The videos are nothing compared to the immersion you get playing as you see how much incredible effort has been put into the game by the Devs. And on top of that, the game's graphics have not even been turned on yet, Beta still has the low-level base graphics enabled so they can focus on balance and testing before introducing final graphics.
 
Meanwhile (if I may hijack this thread back)... Day 3 and I haven't heard anything back from them. The Account Admin department doesn't have a telephone number listed, and they haven't replied to my email inquiring them. Jerks... if nothing else, I'd at least like a refund for the $30 for BC I paid 2 days before everything happened.

It's a shame when you know you hold absolutely NO leverage in anything because you're dealing with a friggin monster of a company that could care less if they lose your business.

my steam account was hacked and perm banned a while ago n i couldnt do anything about it. vavle told me i was crap outa luck n i have to buy another copy of half life 2. :-\

Hang in there Chad, I once had a similar thing happen and they DO finally get in touch with you, it just takes FOREVER. But after repeated emails, I finally got some one at Blizz to deal with me and answer my questions. Unfortunately the answer I got was that my account would be closed forever and there was not chance of reversing the decision.

I guess thats what I get for paying someone in China to farm gold for me with my account.
 
it's the same as d2 accounts, once they ban you account, even if they made a mistake, there's no way of fixing it.

no clue why they do that.
