America's Army

Bowser

Tribe of Judah StarCraft Series Chapter Leader
There's a new America's Army out and it just entered open beta. It's completely free to play, and so far is a whole lot of fun.

I first heard of it through Force Strategy Gaming - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daf1FHBlndk

So far I've been fairly impressed with the game and community; there are a lot of nice, helpful people on, and I've made friends with a whole slew of people in the last week and have been invited to a number of clans.

Is anyone else playing AA or are you interested?

I've heard people say that before, but AA came out back in 2002.

But yeah, it's somewhat similar to CoD. Gameplay is much slower and there aren't as many weapon options or kiddy effects (like calling in an airstrike). I would say it's probably a little more like a marriage between Arma and CS.

I played AA way back when it came out. I think I loaded it up again around AA3 and tried it out. I remembered how terrible I am at shooters.

I did like the squad play in it and I remember some funtimes. I always was amused by the fact that irregardless of what side you were on, you were Army and the enemy was terrorists.

Completely unrelevant to the conversation.
