    Religious Healers, lame.

I'm glad you heal well, but you know that nothing you're saying here suggests something impossible happening. Let me set it out so that it's nice and clear. Show me an instance of faith healing effecting a change in a human being which is obvious, external and not capable of being effected...

What do you think the Holy Grail is?

Isaac Newton was an atheist and an occultist who recanted on his deathbed. Robert Boyle lived in 1640 - in his lifetime people still believed in the 4 elements and ether as the foundation of chemistry. What science was there to conflict with the bible? Blaise Pascal? Another 1640's dweller...

    the earth

It's entirely likely that my throat grew so hoarse from repeating myself that I was prevented from pointing out the logical fallacies with that statement. That or I was stricken dumb with disbelief. I'll search out that thread and post the inevitable counter argument - which is that Young...

What do you think the Holy Grail is?

I rather thought that whilst it's reasonably likely that a man named Jesus existed, there were other Messiah's around that time who also had documented instances of the same rough events as JC's life?

    6/6/6

Didn't the first letters from the Apostles to the various churches suggest that the end of the world was going to happen within their lifetime?

What's your opinion on Psychic stuff?

Not as much as I do!

What's your opinion on Psychic stuff?

I pretty much experienced the full fury of CCGR before the Religious Debate forum moved from there. Nice bunch of guys and a lot less rules than there are here, but they lost control of their own forums when CCGR merged with CGA. They have forums again?

    Unpardonable Sin?

I rather thought that there were NO unpardonable sins in the Christian Faith. Isn't that so? Any sin can be washed away by the blood of the lamb? Besides, who REALLY worships 'Satan'? I mean - tacky!

That would be a different question, not a better question. You're asking me to go against my principles and subordinate myself to a higher authority on the basis of... nothing. Why is a much better question than Why not.

What would you say to any other relationship that tested you in this way? When I'm hurting and I need comfort I don't want to hear "I want to see how you handle this on your own, dear" - I want comfort. Doesn't it say "Ask and ye shall receive. Seek and ye shall find."?

Do you believe our christian views are unreasonable?

Froggy, I'm not being snippy - but quotes from the bible aren't proof of anything other than the inclusion of said verses and concepts in Christian Doctrine. I'm not going to get argumentative (even though I've just watched Dogma again and that film always makes me fighting mad) but a book is...

What's your opinion on Psychic stuff?

Beliefs are dangerous things, slippery as eels and as immutable as stone. In this argument yours have turned in upon your bosom as a dog upon its master. Evolution is CLEARLY a theory. Whether you like it or not, greater minds than yours have spoken on this issue. You can choose to disbelieve...

Why make it so hard? If Noah wasn't required to not see but believe, then why should I be?

    Questions about the Bible

I believe I've already addressed the inerrancy of the bible in earlier discussions. To sum up long arguments. It ain't.

    Can Christians Curse?

What I see is an unhealthy and unnatural fixation for nailing people to things and for ensuring that somebody, anybody, feels pain in order to atone for arbitary sins.

    What am I now, religiously?

I would say that the Catholic term would probably be lapsed. I too am up for that discussion (hey I suggested it!) but I suspect that it will be hard to find a time when we are all available for chat. I'm in the Netherlands, so my timezones are very different. ;) My timezone is GMT+1 - you...

    the earth

Scientists are definitely cagey about declaring things that aren't provable facts as being such. Where something is a Law they get shirty about people flat out disbelieving it, where something is a Theory it is generally referred to as such and where something is a hypothesis, again, its...

    What am I now, religiously?

Point number 1. Like me, DV didn't START OFF not believing in God, that was the only conclusion that fit the available facts later on in life. In both of our cases this was around the time of a crisis in which we called on God to really help us out for the first times in our lives, and he was a...

    Intellectual or Emotional?

I think the point is that we often love people who intellectually we would run a mile from. Or maybe I'm just projecting here... ;)

What's your opinion on Psychic stuff?

Evolution is NOT a lie, it is a theory. If you disprove it - Poof! - it goes away! All you have to do is submit a better theory that fits observable phenomena. And believe me, if you crack a history book you'll see the devil doesn't have a monopoly on lying...
