yeah i wish hyper-v would just pool the mhz like vmware does..but ms thinks it knows better..and they don't..:)

unfortunately the ui is the killer for win8. Win9 will be the end of the desktop from ms..that much is a near certainty...if you don't write for metro(which means it's an app NOT a full application) you're screwed..unless you have the balls of valve who is now seriously writing for linux...

with my wife's extended unemployment i'm now effectively working three jobs..running my business..working at a tire shop..and a landscaping company. is the server still being used? How is it performing..etc etc.

ok since there is no activity on the ns2 server i'm taking the opporunity to do a quick cleanup job on the vm. Downtime less than 15 minutes.

another reason to dump a/v...the more processes you are running the harder it has to work to scan them all...system slows down..you then have to kill programs to regain performance sucked in by a/v..it's a viscous cycle for something that's next to worthless.

nods every app has a piece that runs in the background. your ram usage of 80% isn't excessive and keep in mind the appkiller also uses ram and spu cycles to do it's job...also taks killers tend to cause memory fragmentation which hurts mobile devices and can drastically slow their performance...

what apps are you trying to kill..and how many apps do you have installed.

then you need to pack up the gear and either take it with you or store it in some place offsite where it is secured....otherwise you are leaving yourself in the same situation.

simple in my eyes...if he is breaking things and not willing/able to replace them..it's time to physically restrict his access to said device...a safe..or lockable drawers or something.
