What a promise! Can you say with absolute faith that you know He will never desert you? Father thank you for this wonderful promise in your Word. Teach us gently to always turn to you, even when things are going well. In Christ's name amen.

Posting earlier, getting ready for a long day, and needed a reminder that God is praiseworthy always, and that He is always in control.

Sometimes it doesn't feel like God is right there, that is where faith steps in. Reading a passage like this reminds us that He is with us no matter the situation.

All I can think of when I read this passage I think of the Christian song that has the lyric, "Are you ready, are you ready, for the meeting in the sky?". Let me ask, are you ready this minute?

Most of us are familiar with the raising of Lazarus, but there are two little gems hidden in the bigger story. One is here in verse sixteen. Thomas makes the first complete statement of devotion and love from any of the disciples. "Let us go also", he said. "Then we can die with Jesus"...

Tempted? Turn to God first and foremost.
