Egad, I'm late to the party! I catch the flu and the world passes me by.
First: a little about me.
I joined the Team Eternity community in late summer '06 ... because the MC raid needed druids (see, some truths never change...). I joined Sanctification the night the team took down Rag for the first time, and then six months later had the great privilege to work with a lot of really good people who accomplished something even harder by bringing Sanctification and Redeemed back together into one guild. For about the last six months, I've been the guild bank ... which after in-game Guild Vaults were introduced became "Guild Janitor." I'm getting married in 3 weeks ... and my fiancee seriously questions why anyone above 9 would ever want to play computer games (and kids 9 and below only get a pass if it's raining outside). Redeemed means a lot to me and I have been truly blessed to be a part of it and to join in fellowship with all of you.
Second ... like everyone's said, you can't go wrong with any of these nominees.
Let me put in my personal plug for each of them:
Sazul: I have known the longest; he has been a rock to the community for as long as I have been around. When a series of unexpected events led to Saz being the Thunderfury bearer for our raiders, I don't think we could have anyone (except for SamJ who had the bad luck to miss the ONE raid when the binding finally dropped) better flashing that thing around IF and showing it off for us. Sazul's the kind of guy who arranges surgery around raids ... who leads by action and example ... and who has done a lot to help many of us in the game. And he's also a nice Central Time Zone representative for our perhaps overly West Coasty leadership team. And plus Arakk is always there to keep him in line. Sazul would be a fantastic co-GL.
Jadoron: I first got to know when he was a newb pally in the guild and kept my filling Redvault bags with all of the JC stuff he was cranking. I think I tried to tell him "you're level 20, you don't need to send stuff to the guild bank" but he never stopped. Now he regulary whoops me and the rest of the healers in raids and it's hard to imagine him not being a part of things. Jadoron would be a fantastic co-GL.
Shagz: I don't know nearly as well ... I just know that it seems like every time I log on he's on either ripping up the DPS in a raid or helping some group with some instance or another. He also sent a ton of stuff to the guild bank. Shagz, like Jadoron, has the huge plus of being part of the Los Gatos team ... there are a few physical locations in North America that provide real-life glue that hold our virtual community together, and Los Gatos is certainly one of them. Shagz would be a fantastic co-GL.
It's safe to say that none of us will ever be able to fill Meli's shoes ... if for no other reason than because we don't have wittle bitty girl feet. Thanks Meli!
Third: What does Redeemed need? (imho)
I can't state it better than my fellow nominees: to sustain and reenergize the spiritual and hospitable side that makes us different than any other guild. For there to be a place for anyone wanting to be part of our Christian community, whether you just started playing or transferred in some 1337 toon, whether you want to raid, PvP, or just hang out, whether you're 14, 41, or 141. This is something that I vouch matters a lot to all officers, but it's a tough nut to crack: in a way, the multi-day-raid, never-ending-rep-grind, constantly moving-goal-posts that Blizz brought to the game with TBC ... things that made the "game" great ... make it really tough to sustain the "non-game" guild fellowship activities. I know these three other guys will figure out a way to make it happen.
Fourth: Vote for one of the other guys!
I will always drop walls of text on the guild, sweep out the guild bank, and produce overly complex raid analysis charts ... at least as long as you all let me. And I'll do my best to carry out whatever responsibilities that you ask me to carry. But I'll always be a casual gamer and probably even more so post-marriage ... and I think the other three guys would do a fabulous job of bringing some new ideas to some of these issues that we've all wanted to do better on for some time.
Hooray for Redeemed! Anyone who's actually read this far, if you send me an in-game mail with the subject "Treedeemed Rocks!" I'll send you 5 gold. From Gilga, not Redvault!
