As generally happens in rural Indiana, most of our deaths come from old age related stuff, or car accidents. This was definitely not an old age thing.
As those of you in agricultural areas know firsthand, it's harvest time, and there are all of sorts of farm equipment all over the place, including on the highways.
On this Thursday past, about 4pm, one of these farm semis was pulling onto US Hwy 27 on a blind curve. A man, Ron Tillman, on the highway, didn't see the semi, and drove under it. No matter what Hollywood portrays, cars don't fit under semis.
Ron, who was 32, is survived by his wife, and four children. The youngest is 6 months, and the oldest is 6.
The pastor from the baptist congregation where I attend is going to be assisting at the calling this afternoon, and then the actual funeral is going to be tomorrow.
There are alot of things that God allows that we don't understand, and this is one of them. But He's always faithful, even when it hurts like heck.
This man's wife is a teacher at a local school (which means she's part of the family round here), and he'll be sorely missed by more than his immediate family.
